As part of FronteraFest, a yearly festival of new plays in Austin, Texas, Heidi was presented in a series of enhanced staged readings in February 2018. The cast of nine actors played multiple roles, with the exception of the young actress who played Heidi, who appeared in every scene. The actors lip-synched the songs to the piano-vocal soundtrack.
